Corvina Veronese IGT “L’Icaro” – Castrum

Icarus and his father Daedalus, inventor of the Labyrinth of Athens for King Minos, were, according to legend, imprisoned in the tallest palace of the city, from which they attempted to escape by constructing wings made of feathers and wax.

Innocenzo Fraccaroli immortalized them in his 1829 sculpture at the very moment the father attaches the wings to his son, preparing for both their spectacular yet ill-fated flight. The Castrum wine collection honors Icarus and his sculptor Fraccaroli by dedicating to them the Corvina IGT, characterized by freedom of expression and the personal imprint of the producer.

This wine is a vivid, intense ruby red and offers on the nose a bouquet of cherry, sour cherry, small red fruits, and the typical spice notes of the variety.
